Hunt Bike Wheels launched in 2015 selling a range of alloy road wheels designed for the rigours of UK roads.

The brand has since branched out into gravel and mountain bike wheelsets and in 2020 it launched its aero carbon wheelsets – with Hunt’s wind tunnel tests showing them to be as fast as or faster than other leading brands.

Hunt says its in-house engineering department is responsible for research and development, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling and wind tunnel testing. Publicly available detailed research white papers accompany its in-depth engineering development programs.

These provide the full development methodology and data behind each wheelset Hunt’s engineering department is responsible for, including computer airflow modelling and wind tunnel testing.

The UK-based Hunt engineering team is made up of enthusiastic riders and headed up by the co-founder’s father and chartered materials engineer, John Marchment.

Hunt’s clincher wheelsets are tubeless-ready, though its wheels can be used with tubes too if you prefer.

The internal rim width of Hunt’s different road wheels measures between 20mm and 23mm wide. This enables you to run wider tyres for a broader contact area with the road, with the potential for lower tyre pressures, more comfort and lower rolling resistance.

Selling direct, Hunt offers next-day UK shipping while serving riders worldwide from satellite offices in the US and Germany.

A pre-order service lets you secure Hunt’s most popular wheelsets for a small deposit.

Here, we discuss the Hunt range and pick highlights in the line-up.
